Four Tonne Project - turning four tonnes of spare grapes into over $40k for refugees

We have teamed up with two of our neighbours; Collector Wines, and Eden Road Wines to turn four tonnes of surplus Shiraz grapes into over $40,000 to support Companion House, a resource for asylum seekers and refugees in the region.

We had an exceptional season with more grapes than we could process. Partnering with our neighbors, Alex McKay of Collector Wines and Nick Spencer and Hamish Young of Eden Road, we turned this surplus into something useful.

The collaboration resulted in 240 cases of wine, with $174 from each $200 case going directly to Companion House. The wineries donated grapes, winemaking, and bottling, while the remaining $26 per case covered essential costs like bottles, capsules, and postage.

Companion House director Kathy Ragless expressed heartfelt gratitude:
“This initiative feels like a gift. These funds will support activities for children of asylum seekers and provide emergency assistance to those in financial distress. It’s a lifeline during a challenging time.”

The wine, bottled on 12 November 2015, is available for purchase now. Don’t miss your chance to support a great cause while enjoying a local wine with purpose.
